Day I am attended a PD on writing with Rita Palmer. Here are my takeaways!
- Feedback: Teacher conference board
- Student Agency: Knowing what to do when you don't know what to do.
- More student interaction/Group work
- Fixed Vs Dynamic Mindsets - Things change, effort counts, intelligence can be altered. it's ok to be wrong! "Once the mindset is fixed, we're sunk!"
- After students basic needs are met, are motivated by autonomy, purpose, and mastery. Humans want some control over our tasks, we want real tasks that connect to our world, and we want the opportunity to improve.
- The Power of YET
- Adaptable Experts not comfort zone teachers
- Boys writing club
- Boys like killing things and action! You bet I do!
